Which marketplace keeps the most?

On most items under $15, Poshmark's flat fee takes a big bite; above that, its 20% is usually the highest rate. Depop and Mercari are often cheapest on fees, while eBay and Etsy reach more buyers. List where your buyers are, then compare the real profit above.

Questions

How much does eBay take from a sale?

For most categories, 13.6% of the total (item plus shipping) plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 for orders of $10 or less). On a $45 item with $8 shipping that's about $7.61.

Is Poshmark or Mercari cheaper to sell on?

Usually Mercari: 10% versus Poshmark's 20% on items $15 and over. Under $15, Poshmark charges a flat $2.95.

Do fees apply to shipping?

On eBay and Etsy, yes: the fee is calculated on the item price plus shipping. Poshmark and Mercari fees are on the item price.
